Lazy Biscuits

Moving to the south I've tried to embrace some of the popular foods without getting to crazy and starting to fry everything :)  After many, many attempts I have FINALLY found a recipe for biscuits that the whole family can agree on AND is freezer friendly!

Source: Southern Living

Lazy Biscuits

2 1/2 c self-rising flour
1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/4 c chilled buttermilk
1/2 c melted butter
2 T butter melted (to top biscuits with)

Preheat oven to 475 degrees, whisk together flour and sugar in large bowl
Stir together buttermilk and butter in small bowl (butter will clump) and add to flour mixture.  Scoop dough and form into balls, place on greased or parchment paper lined cookie sheet 1 inch apart.

Bake 475 for 12 minutes, brush with melted butter.

**Add shredded cheddar, garlic and herbs for a savory dinner variety
**to add to freezer form dough into bowls, freeze on pan then place in plastic bags.  To bake pull from freezer and bake from frozen for 18 or so minutes (until golden brown).
