In my commitment to further pursue a greater understanding of the Holy Spirit I tackled Francis Chan's Forgotten God over Thanksgiving break. I would add this book to my "must read" list.
Chan writes with a boldness that is inviting and honest. He requests you pause throughout this book to read scripture, to make sure you are fully understanding what he is trying to explain. Chan writes this book to all those who consider themselves Christians, although many will have a hard time grasping that he is actually talking to them.
What I appreciated about this book the most is that Chan leaves the readers with visual pictures that are easy to grasp and remember. Additionally, this book is written with a HUGE amount of humility. Unlike some pastors who cannot help but brag about the "successes" of their churches, Chan writes this book explaining what he personally has learned, been challenged by, and has come to understand about one of the most complicated things for humans to grasp, the Trinity.
