Good Works

Ahh the never ending debate about faith vs. works. Romans makes it very clear that both are necessary when we enter into relationship with Jesus. Additionally:

The Message version of James 2:14 says "Dear friends, do you think you'll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it?"

(NASB) Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

"Genuine faith is belief in action." A quote that stuck out to me in the middle of a sermon.
So if I have faith that God is in control, my actions should reflect that God is in control!

Application of information is where true change occurs. So I need to apply this information by not taking charge of situations where I am feeling helpless and instead praying and waiting on God for His perfect play to play out.

Good works occurs in many forms, one being the serving with our gifts, another being that our actions match our words-Genuine faith is belief in action.
