Today's Recipe

Tonight I don't have to cook because the kids are with a babysitter, but I didn't want to leave you without a recipe.  Instead of buying chocolates, the boys and I will be making these cookies later.  I think the recipe is from Joy of Cooking.  It's not on the back of the bag, and we like these better.  For this occasion I will be omitting nuts and subbing white chocolate b/c the recipient likes that better.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 c white sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1 c butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 1/4 c all purpose white flour
1 tsp salt
1 c nuts (optional)
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Beat butter eggs and sugars until creamy.  Add dry ingredients.  Dough will be stiff.  Bake 350 degrees 8-10 min.
